I actually think Eagle Mtn is the only lake open for public duck hunting in the metro plex for the 2010 season.

Good luck.

I noticed you are new and welcome but no one is going to name their lake for fear of them getting worse like you view your lake. Good luck.

Try looking out west, not near as many hunters. Stamford, Hubbard, ect...

And so it begins already......

DC,

Just be aware that a lot of public land waterfowlers are very protective or secretive of the places they hunt even general areas, despite it being "public" information. But the info is out there.

A good resource for you to do some research on other places to hunt is a thread in our land and leases forum. It has most of the public hunting areas covered. The info will also apply to the public deer hunting question from your other post.

When I was with him it was a merganser and 3.5" shells. Maybe it doesn't matter what kind of duck.

He's the Duck Commander yet he's fishing for public spots, ha.

At least there's Sniper to tell him that Roberts was awesome in 1999.

Yeah I thought he had a bunch of private land in Louisiana. I guess he's worried about the effects of the oil spill. confused2

Hey DC,

If I show you some spots can I be on next year's show? I need some free duck calls and black hoodies, too.

PM me.

I'm tellin ya baby, Kansas is where it is at. Not Louisiana, Not Oklahoma, Not Ray Roberts, Lewisville, or Lavon. It's Kansas. A man could kill all the Green headed ditch chickens he wants up there because everyone is too busy chasing the pretty white breasted birds to care about them.
