Need to add third option of "Both" sometimes we hunt from the boat, sometimes we stash it in the grass.

Yup I also do both, depends on how deep the water is and where I want to be.

Stash the boat and find a spot.

I'd much prefer stashing the boat and hunting from cover, but it is nice to have the boat as an option when you're forced (or want) to hunt deeper water or if you're like me and have a young hunter on board that you don't want in the elements.
There are other times when you have zero cover and the boat works a lot better than you might think it would. My favorite public spot a couple of years ago was on a thin bare peninsula. I'd pull the boat up on one side and beach it and throw the dekes out on the other side. Even when they flew directly over they never flared with the blind up.
On the other hand, when I try hunting from the boat around cover they seem to flare a lot, which doesn't make much sense. Long story short, if you have cover you're best off hunting from it, but a boat blind is a good plan C or D on public water.

No need for boat if you can get hidden enough
