I wanted to change my standard front site gas block to a flat top one. I can't seem to get any of the pins to budge! Although I have never done this particular task, I have built a few lowers, and done some other minor work on AR's.

Guess I'm gonna have to go to the gunsmith and have it done.

I HATE paying people to do things for me!!

Sometimes that front sight base can be a bear. Brandon can knock it off for you.

I'm sure you know this, but those pins are tapered....they will only come out one way and they can still be a bear.

Thanks guys.

Brandon...I will give you a holler later today.

I messed with it for a few minutes last night but gave up because I was afraid I would ruin something.

I plan on putting a 4x scope on top of it, and not using any flip up sights or anything. Has anyone ever had any luck just cutting one down?

Depending on the scope you might not even see it. But, I've seenwhere someone just grinded it down.

Grind them flat and drift them out with a punch.
