Remington uses the button rifling process as most others and it is the cheapest way to add rifling to a barrel, period!! Most high end barrels have cut rifling, which is more time consuming, but are said to have much better accuracy, easier to clean, etc.

I agree, and won't cost you arm and a leg. Accuracy out of the box and sweet, smooth bolt action.

That's what I told my wife, once you go Finn...now I can't get rid of her! rofl

with that tikka and a GOOD zeiss, you'd be under 1800 bucks.

the supervarmint costs your a premium for the rail and cheekpiece
it's the same as the standard varmint model
I have owned one as well as the standard t3 stainless light
They both shot one ragged hole groups

great rifles
the varmint has a longer and heavier barrel and would probably stand up to more repeated firings without heating up and having the groups walk but I never had an issue with the standard one and there was no difference in accuracy

Like I said, the LTRs are tack drives and have a much better stock and are a true short action

I would also strongly consider the new Sako A7, offered in a true short action whereas the T3s aren't

Not knocking the T3s at all, everyone I have owned or shot have been absolute tack drives, great triggers, zero issues

just pointing out other options

The new Xbolt from Browning is a reported tack driver, Bill Wilson bought one for his wife and he told me out of the box it was shooting 1/2" groups, they don't fit me right though, so, with everything, it's got to fit right

Also consider finding an older Sako, probably my all time favorite rifle

I didn't know that.

Without being sarcastic how is it that a company like Marlin can produce a sub-moa rifle so cheaply whereas Remmingtion produces an inferior product in terms of accuracy?

Me and a few of my friends will never buy another remington.

Tikka T3. No questions asked

The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.

I have a custom .308 that will do everything you want and more. I would put it up against any rifle around. PM me for details.
