I’m looking for a good hunting binoculars for my friends Eve. My father has an Eyeskey 10x50 hunting binoculars. At first, I want to buy the same one to my friends, but my father said it is a little heavy and not easy for long time use. So can somebody recommend any other good hunting binoculars? The price is about $200.

$200 range? I'd go with a Nikon Trailblazer or Monarch.

10x are a little heavy and the higher magnification makes it hard to keep steady on a subject. 8x42 seems to be a preferred size and I have two in this size. From here on in I am strictly buying porro prism as opposed to roof prism. For less than half the price my porros beat my roof's and dollar for dollar this is always the case. I think I am wanting another pair with slightly less magnification so as to get a wider field of view and more comfortable overall viewing experience because I may be using them for long periods at a time. I think 7x35 is pretty close to perfect and would point you to any fully multicoated pair you can find. Even the Nikon Action Extremes, either 8x40 or 7x35 with just the multicoated lenses for about $120 are plenty good in low light. The 6x30 Leupold Yosemite's get terrific reviews for about $90 - but think these might be bested a little by one of the 6.5x32 models Eagle Optics Raven or Vortex Raptor (think they are actually the same) for about $120 - these last group are fully multicoated which means they should be even brighter than the Nikons. Easy carrying, bright, with wide field of view and stable, comfortable images.

I prefer a porro prism also. I like the 10X50's best but a 10X40-45 would be ok also. I like the 10X to get a better look at antlers and sticker points. An 8X just isn't enough for me, but in a pinch they'd have to do.

I'd go w/ whatever you like and roll w/ it. If you like your Dad's then buy them. Weight normally isn't an issue for me.

I had a nice pair of Leupold Wind River Cascades, 10x42. They were great, then someone else likeed them too and stole them out of my truck. I would not go with less magnification than this personally. Lower thatn 10 magnification is pointless to me.

A friend of mine bought the Cabela's brand. We compared to my Leupolds, the specs and everything was identical except the brand label. He paid $200 and I paid $300. Sometimes Cabela's brand is actually a bargin....

Nikon Monarchs or Leupold Wind River. The Leupold are a little lighter, but after I got a bino harness for $15 it didn't matter. Love them both for Texas hunting.

Thank you for all your good suggestions. I think Leupold and Bushnell binoculars seem very good. But my father advised me to visit Eyeskey and find whether there is any lightweight hunting binoculars, Because the quality of his binoculars is very good and the price is reasonable. So,I want to know is there anybody use Eyeskey binoculars before and would recommend any lightweight binoculars for hunting? Thanks !

Never heard of Eyeskey brand name. I have Minox, 2 pair of Sightron and Bushnell Legend (different sizes and powers). All very great optics for the money. Cameraland, Ebay, and the hunting boards are good places to buy. You just have to be patient to get what you want within your budget.

Inexpensive Pentax glass is usually pretty good.
