My husband and son have a new deer lease, which looks more like a hog lease. They have both shown interest in hunting hogs, which the landowner wants us to kill as many as we can, so we are looking to purchase a hunting light since the hogs come in well after dark. My husband picked up a brochure for the NITESTIK at a hunting show this Spring. Have any of you used this product before? It is his birthday soon, and would like some feedback before I purchase. The website is www.NITESTIKHunting.com

Nope, just looking for people who might have used it...looking at the Kill Light, and Texas Boars lights, but no stores around here carry any of these products. Thanks anyway!

These things are always so obvious, and I lose a lot of respect for the company when they do it. So much so that ill spend 2x as much to buy a product from another company instead of the sly spammers/self promoters.

the real shame, is that these might be really good people. good ethical hunters, family, church going, etc.

Somehow they think or are told by someone to sell things on the internet this way. Surely must a twinge of guilt felt when making the post though.

Any product that helps or fills a need will sell. No reason not to just come right out and say what you have. Within forum rules of course.

Okay guys, here is my problem...no stores carry hog hunting items. I have called the one local company Accu-Fire, but I had no success in reaching them..."agents busy" message. Have a b-day next month to buy present for, but I don't know what I am doing. Would rather find a store that carries them by a gift certificate and let him make up his mind, but that is impossible.
Any suggestions on any of the hog hunting lights that I can purchase and not build, would be a great help.

I would check out that varmit light they sell at Cabelas good for 100 yds. About $70.00. Probably good to start out with.

Christy, that is a good lighting system and Kevin Ryer is a good guy! His products are great for permanent setups.

Check out the original "Hawglite" Marauder also. It's good as gold and is useful on bows, rifles and shotguns.

Oh cool! I just checked and Kevin's Sendero light is portable. I'm a little bugged though. He's sort of slamming his other products by suggesting "most hunters don't use solar and having to keep lights going day after day so animals get used to them is a myth". If you're using white light you want the dusk til' dawn setup or they'll break and run on ya unless you barely light them up slowly with the outer rings of a white light. You DON'T need to have a dusk til dawn light setup when using colored lights (my faves are red or green) because they can't see the light. Not sure why he did that in his product detail but all of his products are great. Never heard a bad thing about any of them and I've hunted under many of them too over the years.

Looks like they swiped KellyG's slogan, "Hunt the night". Few things in business are worse than capitalizing on someone else's advertising ideas as a means of capturing traffic. That would be like me coming out with a camo pattern and advertising, "It's not a passion, it's an obsession."

Not pitching anything for personal gain. I have Kevin's Big Red set-up and love it. I've passed out in the blind with the lights off before and the hogs did not spook when I lit them up with the red lights. It's also much easier on your own vision.

I'd like to be able to leave them there permanently, but we have some theives around so I bought the camera tripod adapter. It's a very quick set-up to deploy. I have the tripod outside the blind window and can adjust it easily without spooking the hogs.
(My blind is 45 yards form the feeder)

Here is a pic. The red light is much more intense in the photo than in real life. You can clearly see everything around the feeder. The lights can be set closer or farther away depending on the model and your needs.

Thanks Guys! I went with the SENDERO RPG 9WATT from Texas Boars. It has a combination green and red. Looks like they have been around for a while.

We have developed a Hi Intensity low current deer feeder mounted lighting system... It will light a 500 foot radius around your feeder.
