Mike Leggett the outdoor, hunting and fishing writer for the Austin newspaper could use our support. He tackled the hard topic of feral cats killing birds and the need to control feral cats. Now he is under attack from the feral cat colony supporters who are calling for him to be fired. Quail hunters especially, but all bird and wildlife conservationists need to weigh in to support him. The article is here, and comments may be posted under the article. A friend of mine is a fireman in OK City. I called him the other day and gave him a tip for getting cats out of a tree.
I explained that a 12-gauge just removed a feral cat from a tree on my property within a half a second and that I expended virtually no energy and used exactly zero laddertrucks to do it.
He got a good laugh. Too many people not minding their own business. I'm suprised Westboro Baptist Church didn't picket in front of his house. I'm on his side. Feral cats, dogs, etc can be a real danger to our domesticated pets and especially our children. Nothing wrong with disposing of feral dogs and cats in my humble opinion...and I'm a writer, too!
