A couple of months back after spending awhile at the range and shooting over a box of shells trying to get a new scope sighted in I went and bought a boresighter. I went back the next day and first shot hit paper. Last week I traded that gun for an AR and put the same scope on it. I boresighted it when I put it on.

A few mins ago I looked out the window and there was a rabbit in our yard. I went and got the AR and first shot nailed the rabbit at around 40 yrds.

If anybody is looking for a boresighter than I recommend the same one. It is a Bushnell magnetic one that just sticks on the end of the barrel by being magnetic

I have had mixed luck with them as far as getting scopes on paper and think the parallax setting on the particular scope may have something to do with it. Dead center on a target at a 100 yards won't automatically mean dead center on the bore scope. Least not on mine or others that have the same one (Leupold)- maybe the Bushnell is different but it looks like the same design. What it does do is offer a great point of reference. I can take a sighted in scope and use the boresighter to see where it aligns. Later- even years later, I can put the boresighter back on the scope to see if anything has shifted. Dead center on mine- at least for the load I use is at about 7:00 one quadrant low and oddly enough talked to another guy that said his was there too. Glad yours turned out so well. It would be intersting to use the boresighter on a new rig, then use the tried and true old timer way of just looking down the bore at a dot 50 yds away and seeing how close they match up.
