supposedly, thay have to be depradating crops or other stuff. as opposed to just making your trigger finger ithcy I am a closet crow buster myself. There is a crow decoy in my truck and crow call. I probably wont be posting about Crow hunting, wink, wink.
Forum says "Veteran Tracker". I could not track a garbage truck into a fireworks factory.

Page 70 of the TPWD regulations says that they are "Unprotected Birds".
They can be "controlled without a federal or state depredation permit when found committing or about to commit depredations on ornamental or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, or wildlife, or when concentrated in numbers and in a manner that constitutes a health hazard or other nuisance" .

No matter what they are classified as...they are smart....one four hour hunt with several changes of positions we killed 17...between three..we did not think it was too bad, but at one time we probably had over 100 on top of us. With this topic..the crow call and decoys are making my trip this weekend.....need something to do in the afternoon and really need to warm up the new 16.

How do crows know that you have a gun? Seems like they will sit and mock you from 20 yds. when you are out doing something without a rifle. The minute that you take a rifle out of the truck, they disappear or stay 100 yds. away!

nothing like a young crow in distress call and some #4s, but they are smart, after you take a few they will quit coming in, you just have to move and give the spot a week or so and then you can do it all over again, but on laws on the crows
The purpose of a warrior is not to reason with the enemy but to kill him.

Ok yall, I'm work at TPWD and we are a little more easy than other states when it comes to crow shooting, but definitely make sure that they are harming/depredating crops, ornamentals, livestock, etc. as listed in our Outdoor Annual.
If you get a wounded crow (broken wing) during the shoot, tie it off within 40-50 yards from you where other crows can see it. They simply can't stand a wounded crow and will not leave the area until you dusted quite a few.
Total camo. is a must and a set-up prior to daylight is always best. Make sure to set-up without hearing crows or seeing one fly by/sitting in a tree...scouts are your biggest problem. Don't shoot the first one that comes in.
