Need input on standard height at bottom of window. I have various chairs, so, not basing height on that measurement. Need something standard for Son to also hunt.

Have heard 3'. 4'. Need input. Thanks!

Mine are built on 40" and I have 3 small frame women that hunt from them also with no problem.

38" with normal office chairs works best for us.

At 42" useing a folding metal chair most people will only show their heads above the window ledge. When shooting you will have to stretch up a bit to aim your rifle. Also I have found that a 9" opening for the window is max.
If useing a top and bottom plate construction style it will eliminate waste if you go with 39". Just cut all your wall studs 36"cept th corner and door studs. Ahh what do I no Im still in th lurnin stage

It could be uh law I dont no. Yall have uh good un

38" should be max for young kids

My wife must be a cross between a Indian and a bulldog. When she's not on the warpath, she's sitting on her butt growling.

We're burnin daylite.

I occasionally build fiberglass blinds to sell. I place my windows at 40" from the floor to bottom edge of window. Perfect for adults, just a tad high for the kiddos. Anything 36" and under, adults have to slouch down when shooting. Also depends on the chair you are shooting from.

Commercial blind windows are 39" from floor to the bottom of the window.

Thanks for everyone's input!! I reconfigured my drawings, available wood sizes, etc... Turns out that I can make 3/4 of the blind one height and make the other 1/4 a bit taller.

Hopefully, that will accomodate all that hunt it down the road and will also help to conceal me on the taller side.

I am building a utility trailer blind...so, i have some length to work with.

Thanks!

I make my window opening stair step. Since I build the blind out of old privacy fence, the opening is 4 boards wide. One is 38 inches from floor, next 39inches, next 40 inches and next 41 inches from floor. That way youth to adult can find right height plus shots may be uphill or down hill. If you use plywood, you can cut the stairstep opening with a jigsaw, drill a 1/4 inch hole at each 90 degree turn.
Whatever toots your horn, my .02 $$ worth. With an 8 ft blind it looks like a big 2 eyed monster looking at you. Maybe, that's why I ain't seen bigfoot yet.....
