Just make sure you get one from field hunting lines and not the show lines. They make great flushing and retrieving dogs.

I have a 3 year old pocket of fire. She is the hit with everybody. I work her with my pointers who get changed out every hour to 2 hours while Peanut just goes and goes. The only problem we have with her is we have to have a car check to make sure somebody has not tried to take her home. The only other problem is my pointers are getting sloppy about retrieving because Peanut get all the birds.

I had one as a teenager -- probably one of the smartest dogs I have ever seen. One of the few dogs that I have ever seen that could climb a ladder. Fantastic hunting dog and retriever.
