Am I the only one that gets tired of seeing .22's that look like ray guns? I would like to find a nice .22 auto that looks like a real gun, but all I can find are big plastic turds like the Beretta Neos and Smith 22A's. The Rugers are ok, but they are just ugly to me. I'd like a Sig Mosquito, but I've read nothing but negative reviews about them. Why is it so hard to find a .22 made of metal and wood?

Not many choices for you out there S&W used to make a nice .22 DA revolver, not sure if they still do, other than that maybe one of the .22/1911 pistols.

Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

A buddy of mine has one of those and I HATE it. Too small for my hands and an absolute jam-o-matic...

The Beretta model 21 Titanium is an excellent 22 if you can find one. Not too accurate past 10 years. A simple old luger looking MKIII ruger with a 4.75" regular barrel is decent. Not too many decent choices in an auto for sure In single actions,I use this: http://www.usfirearms.com/cat/12-22.aspI also like the SS Ruger single six. The Bearcat SS is a dandy 22 revolver

I just don't like the Luger look. Revolvers aren't a problem- I'd go with a Single Six or a K 17 in a heartbeat. I'm looking for an auto pistol and just can't find one!!! There are a few, but they are either pot metal crap or cost $1K.

.22 conversion for a 1911.
She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still.

That's just it- if I wanted a super accurate pistol, I'd get a barrel for my Contender. I don't. I want a .22 caliber version of a full size pistol to train with- same size, approximately the same weight, same controls, etc. I'm getting closer and closer to a conversion kit for a 1911 or a CZ, but for that money I'd rather just have a separate firearm. I've read the reviews of the Chiappa and it just doesn't tickle my fancy- made mostly of pot metal. The Buckmark is nice, but then again it looks like the old Astra or Savage pistols instead of a real gun... They can make BB guns that look and feel like Sigs, Berettas, Glocks, and 1911's, why is it such a stretch to get a .22?

That Ruger may look bad but they are flat out accurate. For almost the same money you can get a Sig Trailside that will outshoot any Ruger I've ever held.

Sig sold Hammerli to Beretta who promptly did away with the Trailside line. I'd love to find one used...

I think that's why they make the .22 conversions, cuz lots of people hollered for them instead of a full frame rimfire. I agree though, they build rimfires in bolt actions to mimick the rifles we hunt with, why not pistols?

Just wait a year or two. . . one year, everybody wants cowboy action everything. . the next year,it'll be tactical everything. . . years back, when I first started black powder, everbody had to have fur-trade era gear.Next year it was french-and-indian war period stuff and fur-trade era folks were frowned upon

what about the Sig Mosquito that you have read has been bad. i have shot about a thousand rounds through one and yes it does not like cheap ammo. but it tells you in the user manual to use CCI mini mag. So thats what i use and it shoots great

My sig is great with the cci mini mag. Cheap stuff and it is a single shot.
I know they are not cheap, but the .22 slide for the 1911s and glocks are great. Got both and well worth the money. The .22 slide for my glock 22 is the most accruate .22 auto I ever shot.

Precisely that it doesn't function well with bulk ammo, which is the whole reason I want a .22 pistol- 500 rounds for $15...

form follows function, an auto is not going to have a large heavy reciprocating slide like a 1911. just not enough power in the .22 lr, thats why your seeing so much aluminum
