I am considering a gun for Concealed carry. The SIg 229 SAS is supose to be designed for concealed carry. Post your opinion of the P229 SAS or the P239 SAS.

I've had a CCW since they started. I've tried carrying numerous pistol in a wide variety of calibers, shapes and size's. The only larger framed pistol i have ever been able to carry comfortably and still concealed, is a 239 SIG. It's thin in the slide and grip area's where it counts, so as not to protrude and give away it's presence. Mine is a stock 9mm, with a 3 1/2 lb single action pull. The double action is smooth and i 'm guessing around the 7 to 8 lb pull range. It has great out of the box accuracy, and with the stainless slide and aluminum frame, it's easy maintenance. The only problem i had with the 239, is the long trigger pull, it took a little while to get used to, but SIG has an optional trigger to eliminate that problem.

With that said, i no longer carry a 239, as a matter of fact, i rarely carry at all. When i do carry, it's a Beretta Tom Cat loaded with 32 caliber Corbons. It's had the front and rear sights completely ground down to the barrel and slide. The safety has been disabled and it's been converted to double action only. All sharp edges have been removed and it's been refinished in a non-corrosive mat finish. It's almost invisible on the body and can be smoothly retrieved from pockets.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I decided on the Sig P226 SAS. It just fit my hand alot better. I am a really big dude so I think I should have no problem carrying it. I was approved today for it. I had the Lasermax put on it and I bought a concealment holster to go with a extra magazine holster 2 boxes of practice ammo and 1 box of concealment ammo at least until I see what kind of ammo my Sig likes. Thinking about buying the Sig concealment leather jacket I like it alot for cold weather concealment.
