im looking at getting a new rifle, .270 is the cal, synthetic stock is a definite. im not wanting to go crazy on price staying under 500. so im looking at a weatherby vanguard, rem 700 adl, or tikka t3 lite. anything much better of one over another?

The vanguards seem to shoot well, but I'de pick up the other two and see which one feels better to you.

the only part of the vanguard that I didn't like was the stock, but that's replaceable for $100+/-. I'll probably get around to it by next hunting season.

I'm with rifleman, not a big fan of the vangaurd stock.
Of the 3 if no further mods are ever planned, I would go for the Tikka because of the trigger.
I recently got an ADL mostly because I liked the extra barrel length and planned on customizing in the future, especially that trigger.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

take a look at a Marlin XL7. They won last years Outdoorlife's Great buy of the year. I havent shot one but hear they are great for the money. I have a Tikka and they are great. Remember that the Vangaurd has an internal magazine. I personally dont like internal mags and most of my guns have detachable box mags.

If you like stocks on all of them and are not looking to replace with aftermarket stock, I recommend Tikka T3. If you think you might replace the stock, then I would pick one of the other two.

I would say Remington but I don't like the ADL. So of the three you're considering the Weatherby vanguard would be my pick, they're comfortable and fit me well. Pick the one that fits you the best.
Find a Vanguard with the green stock, it's a huge improvement over the black. The Academy's around here have them. For around $400 I don't think the green stocked Vanguard can be beat.

good info on the green stock i didnt know that, i saw cabelas has them but with black stock. ive seen them at academy with the freen and didnt know the difference. whats the change between the two? i do like the box mag on the tikka, trigger is adjustable on the weatherby and its got a longer barrel than the rem 700, so those two things are why i wanted the weatherby. and btw im not looking to change the stock, im just basically looking for a really durable and accurate rifle for the money

Ruger 77 hawkeye stainless, I got my 22-250 off gunbroker.com delivered new in box for $550 out the door and they come with rings so that saves you $50-$70.

If you are leaning towards the Weatherby then take a look at a Howa 1500. Howa builds the Vanguards, their gun is almost identical except for some bolt machining and the Howa has a Hogue overmolded stock, 10x better than the Vanguard, and it is pillar bedded and has a free floated barrel. My 2 cents.

I paid $449.00 for my Howa at the local gun store, Academy has the Vanguards for $399.00. I decided the stock was worth the extra $50!

Of the three you mentioned, I'd go Vanguard. Tikkas shoot great, but I hate detachable mags, especially plastic like on the Tikka.
The ADL is a VERY rough rifle, you can get much more for your money.
However, I'd go with the Marlin XL-7 over all of them at that price point. They are very accurate, have terrific triggers from the start, and have recessed crowns from the factory, and good recoil pads. You can pick the gun up $350 or so. Then, swap to a laminate stock (beauty of wood, stability of synthetic, plus great recoil reduction) for another $100. Built my wife one in .25-06 and it is sweet!

I think so. The stock was just redesigned. I think it points better.
