Eat. Only reason to kill 'em right now. Would leave them if I was trying to thin them out, but would try to give them away first.

Eat/freeze what I can and give the rest away, except the big nasty smelling ones. If someone wants those, they can come and get them.

A hog is about as useful as a feral dog, or cat. I have no qualms about shooting them and letting them lay. But, if I have room in the freezer, I will clean them.
I killed 2 this past Saturday night. I cleaned one and gave all of the meat away to other people. The other hog was gut shot and was split from neck to netherlands by the 300 Win. Mag. He sprayed his guts. It really was like a grenade went off inside that hog. I did not even attempt to deal with that mess. Someone else took it though so it was not wasted.
A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

releasing feral hogs after capture is against the law, unless they are released into game preserves or game ranches that are licensed by the TAHC as a holding facility. thats why there are so many of them because of dumbazz people keep releasing them into areas where they arent. think before you say stupid comments. game wardens and TAHC monitor these sites and look for people blabbing about breaking the law.

if you dont know the law thats your fault. when your your dealing with trapping and releasing wild animals it is your responsiblity to know the law just like you do for hunting or fishing. there is no exuse for not knowing the regualtions and laws.

I shoot mine in the guts and let them run off. Too much meat in the freezer most of the time.
Let'em grow old

When I get one ( key word is when), I"ll eat it.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I think we are misunderstanding Altez... I was with him Saturday night and he put the smack-down on a stinky old boar (30-06 to the head). I don't think he was releasing anything other than the brain matter from between that pigs ears.

LOL calm down LoneTrapper. Maybe I should of been more specific. I hunt and release but with this boar I hid the evidence.

The little ones are the best to eat. They make great breakfast sausage.
