How often does your family eat wild game or fish? I was just curious as to how many people use hunting and fishing as their primary source of meat. My family has wild game or fish at least three times each week, but frequently more often than that. Our primary meat is venison, but we mix it up with some wild hog, ducks, pheasant, quail, fish, or frog legs too.

My family eats venison from the time I bring it home from the processor till the freezer is empty of it. Back when I fished a bunch, we had fried fish at least once a week in the summer.

We almost completely replace beef with buffalo meat. I shot a buffalo 3 years ago and we loved the meat.....so after running out this past fall, I shot another one in January to re-fill the freezer.

I would say at least once a week. I generally take 5 deer and try to make it last all year.

We seldom buy any meat other than chicken. Probably use deer/hog/catfish 75% of the time, rest being chicken and hamburger and a rare (no pun intended) rib-eye...

Had wild hog chops last night off the grill, night before was Stir-Fry with honey teryaki backstrap and fried rice...

We eat wild game almost exclusively, except for chicken; and we're in the market for game hens. We spend almost nothing for meat at the grocery store.

I wish we had feral chickens, then I would be completely wild game.

Plus think of all the fun we could have deciding what was enough or not enough gun for the tough little suckers.

Plus mature vs non mature animals!!!

Hah, Im with most everyone on here. We eat a lot of venison. We do buy the occasional chicken breast or pork chop(although we dont buy much pork). Ive still got fish left from last year and I am already stocking up on them again this year!!! Ive finally convinced my wife that deer burger is awesome and now when I kill a deer she demands deer burger, sausage, and backstraps only. I love her so much!

Since the implementation of ARs in our county....

I don't eat much venison anymore, not b/c of that ^^^^^, but because I'de be the only one eating it at the house. However, we have fried catfish on a regular basis.

If you like catfish, don't forget baked, broiled, grilled or blackened... all are good...

my favorite is stuffed catfish with crawfish etouffee over the top of it. When I try to cook it I can't get it to turn out right, so I have to place an order with a friend who has perfected it to get to cooking when I'm out in his neck of the woods.

97% of what we eat is wild game. Ducks, Quail, Pheasant, Deer, Hogs, Turkey, Axis. The only thing we buy at the store is Salmon and the occasional chicken

+1 on blackened. Since I don't get to the coast much to fish, I like to buy black drum fillets and blacken them. Cannot be beat. 100 times better than frying IMO. Eating too much fried foods and I have to pop the tums.

I could not agree more! Other than wild game, chicken is what we eat the most of, followed by fresh gulf shrimp.
