Has anyone loaded the 208 gr hornady amax for target in the 300 wsm? the B.C. is out of this world on this round but I can't find a recipe anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated.

I tried them in my 30/378 Weatherby but found the 210gr Berger VLD to be a much more accurate bullet.

I tried that bullet in a 30-06 M1 but the rifle did not like the load.

I believe that the COL may be too long to use that bullet in a short mag.

I've loaded the 208 gr. A-MAX for my .30-06 Savage heavy-barrel rifle. Got very nice .5" groups at 100 yards.

Here's the data on it as I loaded it. (use at your own risk)

58 gr. RL-22
COL 3.405"
Primer CCI BR-2 (Benchrest)

I plan on using these on a 300 win mag with a 1 in 10. Check out snipers hide for some load info.

If you're asking me the question, my twist rate is 1:10 and I don't know what the velocity was. The site where I got the recipe shows it at 2797 fps.

Recoil was not bad, but this beast weighs close to 13 lbs.

That's probably where I got the load data I'm using.
