The VMax is designed for varmints, not big game. Yeah, big game was never my intent. Only close quarter home protection. Protection from who??? The only other person in the county besides your family that could even find your house is me, and I still get turned around on all those dirt roads !!!

Brad, After readong the Hornaday add, I believe it will be a .308" dia round 90gr used for, as it said, HI PERFORMANCE Handgun rounds like Contender or other long barrel pistols. It does say a heavier jacket so some cadaver tests may be needed.

I think it will, but I also noticed in some places 30 carbine is listed as .307 caliber. So the more I research the more I get confused. I have been loading the remington 110 gr soft points since I started reloading. And I don't have a loose bullet to put a caliper on. Might be able to check a loaded one.

Found out today, that I won't be able to load them for the .30 carbine. The overall length of the bullet is to long, and the bullet starts to taper down to soon. If I load them they will not fit inside the magazine of the carbine. I was afraid of this, but the guy at bass pro said they would work. I ran into this problem trying to load 75gr. A-Max bullets for my .223 AR. By the time I got the bullet to seat deep enough to fit in the magazine, it was seated way too deep. I can only use these bullets in my bolt action .223...where I can seat them out farther. They do just fine in my bolt rifle.
