I'm looking to get an upper here shortly. Not looking to spend a bunch, I'll stick to the more economical ones for now. What do yall recommend?
I've seen talk of Spikes and Delton being fairly cheap and decent. Which would yall get and why?

I have one on order from Spikes. They are willing to work with you on price also. They knocked $130 off the price and made a few adjustements to mine also. They are good people that know what they are doing. I ordered from them because my friend has had 2 of there AR's and love them. Total price shipped to my FFL was around $800

Build your own. Cheaper and you end up with exactly what you want.

This or LMT. Theyre about 485 and worth every penny! have to add your own hand guard, but the ones that come stock on most uppers will end up getting changed out anyway. Otherwise, Stag would be my next choice

Blackthorn, Hessi, or vulcan will be your best bet. There are a lot of good write ups on here about them about how much everyone loves their products and customer service. lol

I will try and actually answer the questions you asked about teh 2 brands you asked about. Out of the two you asked about I would have to say Spikes is by far superior to Delton. Delton is a great entry level upper and I would pick them over DSA, Model 1 Sale, DPMS and some of the other evtry level ARs any day. One thing to think about though is teh staking on them are horrible (like most ARs on that level) but other than that they are a great buy !! That being said, Spikes is leaps and bounds ahead of teh Delton with not much of a price increase !! Spikes builds there rifles to specs along the lines of Colt, LMT, BCM, and Noveskes Light sereies but for $200-$400 cheaper ! This puts them in an all together different categorie as teh Delton. If your looking into getting and M4 style AR you cant beat Spikes for teh price. I think someone mentioned , ou can get tehm under $800 shipped !! I would also suggest Colt, LMT, or BCM but I see you are looking for a budget type rifle and Spikes are every bita as good a rifle for less money. JMO and I hope it helps !!
