Thinking about my next AR15 and I am considering the 6.8. Anyone here have any advise on it before I take the plunge? I am really interested in knowing if anyone has had trouble with loads or performance out of it. Thanx for the help.

according to SSA, use small rifle primered brass for loads due to better performance. thats all i got, and im looking for a 6.8 eventually myself.

I have a Stag 6.8 spc. Really good gun. Shoots flawlessly. Pretty good selection of ammuntion available. Nice gun for deer and hogs.See Stag below. Make sure if you buy one it is SpcII 1/11 twist so you can shoot hotter rounds. Mine also has the chrome lined barrel. SSA does have the best rounds and reloading components. I dont reload but shoot SSA.

The SPCII chamber is reliable and very accurate. The SPCII Chamber has a longer throat which allows you to shoot the hotter loads without worrying too much about pressure signs

Gottchya. Other than Stag, who makes an upper like that? Got any web sites to check?

If I went to the gun show this weekend I'd come home w/ one from RR. I'm wanting one really bad and the wifey knows it. I got too much on the plate right now and got to get things done around here before deer season. I got a new lease that I'd REALLY like to enjoy this fall.

I want the RR complete w/ a 20" bbl and will top it w/ a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50. I'll also reload for it and use 110gr Barnes bullets or the 110gr Nosler Accubonds. I'll also have to buy a FP trigger kit for it and will need to stock up on the brass, bullets, powder and a set of dies. So, I'm lookin' at spending some $$$. Another reason I need to wait a little longer. Ya never know the prices may come down a little more. I'M HOPING!

I hope they come down too. Rock River has an awsome web site for them and pretty good prices. Seems to be a good company as well. I guess when another part time job check comes in I will pull the trigger and finish the build.
