Went back and forth about hunting last night. I think I changed my mind 3 or 4 times before getting home from work. Finally decided at 7PM to go since it would be my only shot this weekend. Glad I did. I managed to nail another one of those spotted hogs. Apparently there won't be any shortage since I'm now seeing lots of little black & white soccer balls zooming around the feeder. That fat sow I had been seeing on camera dropped her litter. The video isn't the greatest. It started to mist about 20 minutes before my shot. Right about 9 seconds in you'll see a coon coming from the right. At 10 seconds I pulled the trigger and the hog was DRT from a neck shot from the R25 in .308 Had to laugh at the look on my face when I saw the pic at home. I just about ruptured my eardrums trying to stifle a sneeze right as the camera went off.

It looks like you drank a six-pack of red bull about 15 minutes before the picture!

One picture shows you with what looks to be a pump action shotgun and then in the next pick a different type of gun.
Do you normally carry more than one weapon with you and if so can you tell me what is your reason?
Nice pig btw!! good shooting.

Nice pig btw!! good shooting. Yes Sir, you are observant. I shoulder my rifle and carry the shotgun when hiking into & out of the area. Lots of heavy cover and narrow trails. Tons of hogs running around. And I bait part of the trails too. I've never yet come up to a hog that I've shot with the .308 and have it jump back up. But I've read enough stories about confrontations with injured hogs to approach any hog I shoot at night with the 12ga. It's loaded with 00 buck and would quickly put an end to any hog wanting to get uppity. I hunt by myself on a lease that sees very little activity, so if I were to get injured it would be up to me to either be able to get out, or at least get to my cell phone, which at the time was back in the blind. I take the approach that it's just a matter of time before an encounter occurs. I would rather have the 12ga in my hands than the AR10 in those circumstances. Plus if I got cut up by a hog out there my wife would put the brakes on my little adventure before I ever received the first stitch.......
