I just wanted to thank Big Orn for the hunting tip he gave me a month or so ago.

Although I am getting more from THF than I’m giving right now. I hope as good guys like Big Orn help out the less experienced hunters on the forum, like me, I’ll be able to help other hunters in the future.

Thanks again Big Orn.

Mighty welcome, Wingman!

There are many places to hunt on public land, but as has been said many times here, the best places are very hard to get to for the "softies".

Some of those places, like where you went, was once a "postcard" area for primitive hunters. It had it all. You could deer hunt in the morning, hunt a few squirrels and rabbits on the way back to camp, then head out after choking down a bite of vittles, go hog hunting as make your way to the many creeks to get your limit of ducks.

It's still great, but the flooding and that big ice storm of 2000 really took its toll on the whole riverbottoms...not as clear as it once was.

Down there was the first time I actually saw wild hogs going "piggy back" across the creeks. It was a site to see.

Glad you found it! Hope you enjoy every single minute!
