Well guys.....I'm really excited!! Reason being, we just got on a new deer lease and it looks to be an awesome place. I went and checked the place out this weekend to see if it was all I hoped it was....and it proved to be more. It's 1,440 acres in Mason County with 11 members total. LOADED with deer. We used to hunt a ranch 5 miles from this one. It is on MLD level 3 and is surrounded by over 20,000 acres of other ranches also on MLD ranging from 800 to 5,000 acres each. This lease is issued approx. 60 doe permits every year.

The camp is the nicest camp of any deer lease I've ever seen. It is set up like a compound with 5 buildings......several cabins and a main house, also a bath house. All buildings are either metal or hardy plank built on slabs with metal roofs. Stone pathways connect all the buildings.....huge stone patio with built in stone BBQ pit and fire pit. 2+ miles of spring-fed creek running thru property.....with a dam located just below the camp area with Bass. Protein is provided from Feb. - Sept. (included in the price).

I can't wait to hunt here next season. My dad and I each took a spot on the lease. We are allowed 1 trophy buck per membership, plus however many does, culls, and spikes we have permits for. Last year they shot 11 trophy bucks, 25 spikes, 60 does, and a few culls. That is roughly 100 deer split between 11 members!! Bowhunting HEAVEN!! Can't wait to get some serious experience with the Iceman!!

$3,000/gun and it includes everything except for your corn. Protein is provided. A little pricey, but with such a nice camp and all that's included.....I think it's worth it.

haha.....yeah that would be nice. But we bow hunt and rifle hunt, so it's all good. In fact I'm actually thinking about putting a scope on my S&W .44 mag and doing a little pistol hunting this year as well.

And yes, I actually do have some pictures but I haven't loaded them on the computer yet. I'll see if I can post a few later.

With all you mentioned it had and the landowner is providing protein and it MLD Level 3, I would say that is a pretty good find. Looks great and who wouldn't grab a camphouse and the other amenities if it looked that nice and clean.

Congrats and something tells me you'll be filling a few freezers with some prime venison this year!

Any idea what some of those trophies were? Sounds like a lot of money for 1400 acres.

I have a similar place in San Saba that is 3000 acres for the same price with house (sleeps 13), game cooler, protein feeders, etc. Just trying to compare what we call a trophy and someone else to see how close some of the leases are. Oh sorry, we dont have a fishing pond.
I know deer season is over but holly crap, no reason to be on edge and jump all over someone for asking some questions.
