we drink alot of beer and look for sheds.
for awhile we were having a contest at how far you could make hits with our open sighted .22. bets were made and the action was pretty hot, Let me tell you when your shooting at a paper plate at 200 yards you learn abit about bullet drop and wind drift in slow moving calibers. this keeps up entertained for an hour or two at least. when we get really bored we load up and do a slow cruise thru the ranch, occasionally we get lucky and get a doe or cull buck (what we normally hunt)
we have t.v w/ satalite but I hardley ever watched it, at night we sit around the fire and have a whiskey and tell stories.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Drink bear, fishing and chasing women.
Check out my non-commercial bear hunting website; Bear-Hunting.Org! Which educates hunters on both bear hunting and hunting safety.

I like to putz around looking to identify the plants the deer are eating and I also like to look for "sign" and try to figure out what critters I have running around as well as where they are going to or coming from.
Huntin' arrowheads is always good too.

Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

Man there never seems to be any down time at our lease unless you're there alone.
We always have feeders to fill, hog traps to move, water to transfer, roads to box blade ect... ect...
IF I have any spare time I just go for a "walk about" and scout places I don't enter during hunting season.

Fill feeders, check out all spots and look at/for tracks, rubs and scrapes, shoot rifles, maybe do a lil hog hunting, play spades!!!

I am down with my boy now on his first camping trip. Fished some and then cooked dogs and smores. He was asleep at 8;45. Bought to put the fire out. Song dogs are going nuts and no moon. Few more years he'll be hunting them with me. Hogs have torn up area ll around camp and we never see them dangit.
