has any one heard of the 27 point that scored 208 i belive thats what it scored in kaufman it was killed by a game warden he had to go to a taxadermist far away so no one could destroy it to get back at him

That would be the deer shot by the local GW. Shot out of Prairieville I believe. I've got a poor quality pic on my cell, taken right after they found it. Huge buck. Just goes to show, they can come from anywhere.

Yep. He is the one. He is also the GW that called us out of the field to check guns and licenses, just as the Dove were starting to fly one afternoon. I ask him, if it couldn't what, that they were really flying here before sunset, maybe 30 minutes left. He just laughed. Wasn't any place for us to go, it was a small field. The hunt was pretty much over.

That sucks !!

I've heard of a few less than pleasurable encounters with this GW. All in hunting situations, and all where no citations were issued once the book was broken out and he was proven wrong.

I really dont like this GW he came to my house an tried taking one of my Baby Fallow deer. He said it was illegal to own an that i had to have a license! I called the other GW's around an they came an said i can own him legaly....

I had two buddies that paid for a day hunt for dove. They showed up, and paid the guy. He took all the hunters out before daylight, and set them up on the edges of some fields. Just as the sun was coming up, GW Minter showed up and collected everyone's Drivers license. He said for them all to come to his truck to get them back.

My buddies went over there and asked what was up. He said, you are all hunting over a baited field. They looked down, and sure enough, the guy had thrown milo out. None of the hunters had any idea what was going on. They were taken out there by this guy before daylight.

He proceeded to write every one of them tickets that ended up being $270 a piece.

To me, that's just a crock.

I saw him one day at the local bow shop, and had a question for him about night hunting for pigs. He seemed rather annoyed that I would bother him while he was talking smack with his bow bubbas. I lost all respect for him that day.

I wonder how he ended up on a lease in HIS jurisdiction that had a record buck on it. Seems kinda fishy to me.

I wish that deer had come from Prairieville cus I only live 5 mins from there. It actually came from Crandall/Combine area.

GW should not be allowed to hunt in their juridictions... PERIOD conflict of interest in my book.

What kind of intel aquired from his position, and "influence" on the landowner played into this. Man, this has just left a bad taste in my mouth, especially after the personal accounts of this guy.

Totally agree. I am looking at some places in Kaufman county, I hope I don't have to deal with this jerkoff in the future.

I disagree. He pays his money and hunts dove and ducks like the rest of us.... he's good to go.

Their jurisdiction is the entire state of Texas.

This guy wrote a couple of my buddies tickets for shooting pigs from the bar ditch that were on their own ranch. The pigs tore up a 200 ac of wheat field.

I like Minter he has always seemed like a pretty straight lace guy but you never know where you will find him. I can see there being a special interest situation hunting your jurisdiction though.

That deer has a cut in his left ear like it may have been tagged at one time. Also I thought as soon as you kill a deer you were supposed to tag it ASAP. Prior to pictures being taken.

My father grew up near the area where this deer was shot, still owns land and know alot of folks in the area. According to all of his old buddies that know this GW he is a jerk to most hunters - beyond just doing his job.

Exactly. I actually offered to let a couple of game wardens hunt on us for free, and they refused. One did join and pay for his spot like everyone else though.

They are the same as anyone else.

And as long as you are legal, don't worry about it. I have been checked so much it's unreal dove hunting and fishing, and a couple times at camp when deer hunting. it's all good.

Honestly I think it's 8 percent of the world that are jerks. 8 percent of teachers, coaches, cops, preachers, firemen, etc,... even THF'ers........
