Went to Tractor Supply yesterday to pick up some corn for the Hog Trap and feeder and found it to be the cheapest Iv paid in a while. 4.99 for 50lbs sack. Not bad if you feed year round.

Still $6.99 at ours. On sale/clearance or just lowered price?

I always seem to buy my corn at TSC. I've noticed there corn is always clean and nice large kernals. Not the cheapest in my area but the most consistent.

Which TSC? Ours says they will match other TSC stores as long as they can call the store and verify the price.

Academy has 40 pound bags, so you have to add 25% to the price to compare with Feed Store prices.

No, he means 25%. The additional 10 lbs is 25% of the 40-lb bags.

You are correct...
Nope, a 50 lb bag has 25percent more than the 40.

A 40 has 20% less than a fifty.... TAKS Test questions...

Why the deleted post?

We were talking about two seperate things. I was talking about a 40lb bag being 20% less than a 50lb bag.

Then you shouldn't have responded, "I think you mean 20%" to this post:

"Academy has 40 pound bags, so you have to add 25% to the price to compare with Feed Store prices."

If you're going to "correct" another guy, you're going to get called out when you're wrong.

It's about time the price started falling. Since the ethanol deal it has been out of control. Now our biologist wants us to stop feeding corn because of the afflitoxin effect on quail (BS).
With Soy mix through the roof we are probably headed for an argument. It seems like 4 years ago we were paying about 4.50 for a 50# bag. (Buying a ton or 2 at a time). Since then we have paid as much as $9 per 50# and no one has been willing to let us buy multiple tons and pick up as we needed. It also seems like the quality has tanked as well. Clean is not very clean anymore.

Or you have to subtract 20% from the 50lb price. Right??? "Correct" me if I am wrong. up

do yall think it is wise to stock up on corn now for next year? Will it go bad if kept inside without moisture/animals? $5 per 50 lb bag is the cheapest I have seen in awhile.

We do that in south and west texas. In east texas the corn collects so much moisture it stops up stuff and rots inside the feeders. Bagged corn is real clean and dry. At least that's how it works for us.
