UPS man just dropped off my reloading kit at the house. To bad I'm at work. Now I just need to build me an inexpensive bench and I'm G2G

Congrats on your new reloading equipment! Post up some pics so we can see what you got. I recently downsized form two large reloading benches in the garage to a much smaller one in the house, man I love A/C. I set it up so I can swap out my presses, the Lee is shown in the pics, I can also install my case trimmers and small vises that I have setup for working on my guns.

Nothing like the smell of new stuff. So I have a old walmart desk made out of particle board. Will this work for a set up?

You may need to reinforce it on the underside of the desk where the press will mount. Plywood or something like that will help, make it larger then the base of the press as much as you can to help spread the load out over a larger area.

Particle board is probably a bad idea. are you talking osb or mdf? Mine is 3/4 inch OSB and 2x4 frame. works pretty well but if I had it to do over again I would have gone with 3/4 plywood. full length sizing some of the larger rifle cases puts a lot of torque on the wood. The heavier the bench the better too or you'll end up shaking everything off while you're working. Good luck...you're gonna love it. Now get ready to join the rest of us on a constant search for components. It's a sickness.

Right now I'm gonna reload 44mag pistol rounds. That's all I have dies for right now. I know in the near future I'll reload 45 acp 357mag/38 special 223 and 30-06. I spent an hour last night reading the reloading manual.
