Texas BBQ Corral in Mt. Vernon is pretty danged good. X2 Bodacious BBQ & Blalock's BBQ in Mt. Pleasant are both good as well
Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

Country Tavern is WAY over-rated.
Carter's BBQ in Longview on South Eastman Rd. is pretty good and a thousand times better than Country Tavern. I dunno if I can agree, definitely a great place to eat though!

Will have to try Carter's...
Try the Texas best BBQ at the Truck stops at exit 571 (Hwy 271) and exit 597(Eastman Rd.) on I-20... Not smoked there but dang good!!!!!!!!!!

May be mentioned above, but a few years ago, I went to an ExxonMobil production site in Hawkins. A guy that worked at the place took me to a BBQ place south east of there, BBQ was VERY GOOD.
At the time, all they sold were Baby Backs and Brisket. Place was a hole in the wall and was right on a county line. Only reason I know is because the county was dry and there were a few stores that sold beer/liquor across the street.
Any one familiar with this place? What is the name?

Any one familiar with this place? What is the name? Maybe Big John's? Big John's bit the dust. If you thought that was good "Q" you need to get out more. Local folks wouldn't dare eat that stuff. Seems we are getting places all over the state on this thread but the best BBQ in NE Texas is either Longhorn Smokehouse, 4 miles north of Big Sandy, or Bodacious in Gladewater.

The "Original" Bodacious BBQ is in Mt Pleasant not Longview (same fam started though). It gets my vote. Though, yesterday I had a slab of pork and a slab of beef ribs from The Rear Of the Steer in Omaha, TX and it was worth hangin' a fang on. Veggies and sides were store bought but the Q was outstanding drop off the bone!!

Zion's is good in Huntsville but those ladies can be rather demanding at time. There is another place on 190 going towards Livingston named Down Home Cooking that is very good as well. Don't have many options as it is all on a white board but it is awesome!
