My neighbor is a retired Tarrant County Judge and his wife was my elementary Teacher.
I can't beleive someone would go do that
I'm in a nice neighborhood but the low lifes are moving in all around us.
The city needs to do away with the low income housing!!

You've had guns stolen from you twice in a 30 day period. The saying, Fool me once.....comes to mind.

The guy admitted that he made a mistake. Hell, he knows it and feels bad about it. No need to kick him when he is down. Have you ever had a gun stolen?

Someone, whom he knows, might have stolen his gun, and a nice one at that. Dont you think he could use a word of encouragement, rather than a lecture.

I nominate phat694 for the "what you are supposed to do with your guns" police chief.

Yea, I have had ONE gun stolen. Someone broke into my truck and stole it along with all my work tools. I learned a big lesson. 2 years later a different truck of mine was broken into, they got NOTHING.

I don't know about you 'Hunting_Coach' but unless I'm cleaning a gun, I don't have it laying around for all the world to see it. It's securely locked up. Heaven forbid a child sees and unattended firearm and curiosity takes hold.

And I'll be the police chief for ya....You sure as Hell wont see me posting....Another Gun Stolen.

WOW!!!

It must be hard for you. Now you are getting way off topic. He said nothing about a child getting a hold of a gun or cleaning a gun. Do you know that he intentionally left the gun in sight? Maybe he was cleaning it, the satellite installer showed up, and he did not have time to put it away, being that he TRUSTED(notice past tense) the guy. Maybe he just got back from shooting it and was about to put it up. Maybe he had it out because he was going to sell it. WHO THE HELL KNOWS!!! The point is that you kicked him when he is down and obviously, you are not someone to be pointing the finger, being that you had a gun stolen out of your truck.

And if a child sees an unattended firearm, I would hope that it would not be loaded, especially if you were cleaning it. I hope you dont have to tell us that you got another gun stolen. GOOD FOR YOU! But remember if someone wants something bad enough, no matter how good you have it locked up, they are going to get it.

All I was saying, at first, was not to kick the guy when he was down. Did anyone do that to you when you got your gun stolen? I doubt it, because reading your post, if someone did, you would have bitten their head off.

Again, lets not kick a guy when he is down. He probably knows he made a mistake, lost a friend, and lost a gun. Give the guy a break.

I "think" most of you are missing the whole story, first gun stolen post was a post he did for a gun store, not his personal weapon. The SIG 220 was the only gun stolen from him... so if I am wrong... fifty flogs in the town square. By the way, the .45 Sig 220 was the older model without the accessory ramp. I have dealt with this member for over two years with nothing but the best of deals and found him to be a really responsible person. Don

Sorry for the misfortunes. I know your loss.

Trust? A friend was putting on a workshop with other instructors who promote ethics. He brought a few collector items that are desirable to certain collectors only. After the workshop was over he noticed one of the expensive, irreplacable items was gone. Taken by one of those who teach ethics. Who do you trust?

You can't control other people to a point, but hopefully you marched down to the PD first thing today. Waiting only makes recovery harder.

I leave a couple of guns around the house, loaded, for easy access. Just me and the wife here. Varmints spotted through the windows from time to time.
