I am having issues with my lifetime ON TIME thrower. What are your thoughts on a heavy cover area as far as a top quality throwers being able to stay charged with a solar panel? What brands do you recomend?

Cox feeders are great, we've never had a problem with any of them.

It is called "lifetime" because it has a lifetime warranty. Call them up and they will send you parts just for the price of shipping. smile

"Solar Panels" actually have to have "solar" to work. Heavy cover won't cut it no matter what brand you get. frown

I recommend On-Time Feeders.

Good Hunting,
Gary

Check our Monarch, they are on Lancaster just east of 820. Good quality and convenient to us Metro types.

LawnMower, we had a feeder burried deep in an Oak thicket on out MAson lease. I didn't think there was any way a solar panel would work in there. BUt it ran for years without us ever having a problem. They don't need all that much sunlight to give off a little "trickle" charge.

A good solar panel that we use will put out 8-10 volts in our shop. Cover usually wont effect them as much as you would think. Put a meter on the output and check it.
I have actually moved feeders to the shade to reduce the output on solar panels and they work fine.
Thanks
Andy

I have had really good luck with a brand called Triple C. They are located I believe in Burleson Tx.

We have Three Sweeny’s. Two of them since 1994. We just had to replace the clocks in them. I can't complain. They are a little (okay quite a bit) more. But to get 15+ years out of feeders. With the only problem being raccoon vandalism and batteries. The expense has taken care of itself. We have had several other brands for our other feeders and I have paid twice as much in the long run for 4-5 replacement for each one. I could have been out the initial cost of 2-3 more Sweeny’s.

ON TIME has great customer service! Give them a call. I believe you send them a check for $13 buck for shipping and and your timer, they will replace or repair whatever needs to be. No questions asked.
Good luck!

I use Remington feeders w/ a solar panel from BPS. Never used a varmint cage and never had a problem w/ them not workin'. I just don't like the cheap legs. Bent some and replaced them w/ a one piece design (chainlink fence top support) from Home Depot cut to my desired length (10').

Spin Cast are by far the best. up They always work and are simple to use. They don't leak corn out like Moultrie and other brands. When you start thinking about the cost of the corn draining out of your barrel too fast, buying a better quality timer/thrower will pay for itself in the long run.

I'm new to hunting but my brother-in-law swears by them. He has 3, all at least 10 years old. He lent me one until I can buy one.

Just got a Spin Tech for my project hitch feeder. Will see how they work once it is completed and can find time to get to the lease.
