I am going to buy dies for my .257 Roberts and .270 Winchester.

I will be using a friends loading set up and just furnishing the dies. Will any die work on any press or do I need to find out what press they have?

I know this might be a Ford or Chevy question but is one brand better than another. I am not planning on loading commercial quanity just a few hundred rounds a year.

Welcome to The Forum.

You are right in this being a Ford/Cheavy question.

It will depend on how much loading/shooting you do. All of the companies make good dies, it will just come down to what your own preferences are. I use Lee, RCBS, and Hornady. They all work and I am well pleased with the results.

Good Luck on your search.

Now pull up a chair by the campfire and talk to us.

Thanks, I have been lurking for some time now. I will probubly go with a quality die such as RCBS just because I know that those dies will last mine and my childrens childrens lifetime. As stated before, I doubt that I will load more than a couple of hundred rounds per caliber a year. Yet I know that if I am reloading I probubly will shoot more, looking for the elusive perfect round. LOL

Any of the dies mentioned will work fine. My favorite brand now is Redding. I have a bunch of RCBS, Lee, and Hornady and they all work well but Redding seems to be the best imho.
