We hunted for 5 days and shot some nice deer, saw some real great ones too that will be over 160 and 170 in the next two years. Saw a 4 1/2 year old straight up clean 12 that was smoking good looking too. I will post some photos when I get them, but they were really running the does down there. Glad to be home to shoot some ducks this week.

Bradbury welcome back home. Was wondering how the trip went down there. Looks like I will be doing some goose hunting in the snow this week end. Amarillo has 2 inches on the ground right now and the temps are going to stay below freezing till Saturday. A white Christmas, gucks and geese in the snow a present I did not expect this tear hehehe.

The usual fare.... tons of canada geese. Few specks and snows, but they were always on opposite side of me, and well, LOL, they just slipped away. Managed a nice blue bill that I took over to taxidermyman, it only had 1 or 2 pieces of #2 under a wing so it should make a good mount. Headed up to Amarillo tomorrow, goose hunting down by Tulia, seems a large number of geese are terrorizing some wheat that the owner wants us to 'shoo' them away from LOL. Might slip in some pheasant while we are it it, but, gonna have ducks and geese with snow and temps around 2 degrees Friday morning. Gotta love it

8 1/2 YEAR OLD BUCK...NOTICE THE TWO KICKERS....LIVE WEIGHT WAS 225
4 1/2 8 PT CULL BUCK
6 1/2 YEAR OLD 8 POINT...135 B&C
I HAVE ONE MORE, BUT I NEED TO GET A SMALLER SIZE OF IT, IT IS LIKE 2.7 WHATEVER AND GOES OVER MY STORAGE LIMIT....
GOT IT FIGURED OUT.
This is the best one taken, but not the best one seen by far, 153 B & C too bad for no brow tine on the the right side, but who cares...6 1/2 year old deer. This guy stayed in the brush for a solid hour before my buddy shot him. I was in the stand with him and the fact that all the doe were looking in the brush and other bucks would stay off that part of the sendaro....we just knew and a hair afer 5:15 he stepped out and 4 minutes later after lots of talking and evaluating, my buddy decided to take him.

Just South of you about 5 miles South of Big Wells...the young ones were really on them and some, not all...but quite a few of the older ones would wait for the young ones to make a move and then they would move in on them. I bet they will be full bore this weekend! Sadly, I will be duck hunting.......

Down in my old stomping grounds. I grew up on the Nueces River near Valley Wells, just below Big Wells. Nice deer down there. They sure pay dad a lot of money to shoot at 'em too. Whose place were you hunting on?
