Whatever shoots best with my gun/choke combo. That happens to be the Winchesters out of those listed.

I'm a Nitro user also but I've been playing with the Hevi 13 and will probably be changing over this year. Really interested in trying to pattern the new triplex loads and the #7 hevi's.

I guess it all depends if I use the 10ga or the 12ga. I prefer Remington shells in #4 shot. Have used and still have Hevi Shot for the 12ga. It works, believe me. Just don't turkey hunt much anymore.....no lease and killed a ton of easterns thru the years.

The hevis grouped horrible out of my gun. I was disappointed as I have read they are deadly.

It depends on the choke tube from what I've found out. I went to a full choke instead of an extra full.

Yeah, which goes to show you always need to pattern your gun. Never know what a certain gun/choke combo is going to like best.

I have been using the same pack of remington (I think) copper clad #5 Turkey loads for year. Only need 1 per bird.

I load my own 18g/cc 9x8s turkey loads.

For store bought loads,
Nitros 7s
Nitros 4x5x7
Hevi-13 #6s (2 oz.)
Win XRHD #6s
Fed Heavyweight 7s

Hevi-13 has some new Magnum Blend and #7s that are going to be very interesting this year.

Do you see the 18g/cc being commercially available in the near future? I just can't see investing in reloading equipment just for a few shells?

If you're not already set up, it is kinda expensive. But guys who don't want to invest much, can just do it for under $200 if they use a roll crimp.

I don't know if anyone will be offering them commercially in the near future. You'd think they would, but the shot is expensive...

My choices were not listed. The load I have always used, Rem. Hevi shot magnums, are not made anymore. They stopped making them about three years ago. I still have one box left. I have found a shell that patterns even better than the hevi's though. That shell is the Rem. Wingmaster HD. It patterns great in my 870 with a Jellyhead choke. I shoot 3 1/2 5 shot in the hevi's and 3 1/2 6 shot in the HD's.

Patterned the Hevi blends and the #7 and got devastating patterns with both. Not equal to a Nitro but much of a difference either.

I shoot the nitro 4 x 6 in my 870 mag in 2 3/4" and have had no problems. Smacked a bird two years ago at 45yds and it was bigtime over.
