South Brewster county is covered up with quail this season. How have other areas been? Hopefully all the moister we have been getting this winter will translate into good rains this summer and another good season in 2010.

7mag, I have inlaws and a son in Ft Stockton. I'll have to look you up next time I go visiting. You know Ray House, Melvin Duncan, Johnny McComb?

Ray House really sounds familiar. I still have alot of family there, and always stop by on the way to the ranch.

We hunt Mule Deer in Hudspeth Co. This year I saw 2 quail the entire 7 days we were out there. In the past I would see 2-4 coveys a day. Not sure what has changed. We didn't see as many mule deer either.

About 130 miles south west. Our place is on the north west side of big bend national park.

the coveys aren't as big now but earlier in the year and in the fall we were seeing several coveys a day with 30 or more birds in a covey. We were getting close to 100 birds a day coming into the house feeder and we are still getting 30 or 40.
