I hunted with Thompson about 15 years ago. His operation was near Kerrville/Ingram area. It was one of his famous T-shirt hunts. I see he is at it still. I do not know what exotic rams go for at auction but there must be a high profit margin. What he might be doing is not ethical but it is legal.

I'm not to sure about that, his contamination of the watershed needs to be investigated.

I am far from defending him or his actions. His neighbors must know of his activities. I would think they would report him or somehow PETA would discover him. That would be bad for hunting overall. If he is truly a bad apple then he needs to go out of business.

I had the same experience as Hwy Man. I ended up leaving the same day I arrived. Just not the kind of hunting I care to do!

You know... After listening to you guys about your opinions and your experiences at Mr.Temples Place, Im really and truly on the verge of changing my mind about going back. Bottom line is... Its not worth it and its really not worth my time to go back to that place. I will just take my losses and call that a very bad experience and hope to hell it dont happen to anybody else. Thanks for backing me on what went down...

It's just a suggestion but I would check into several of the outfitters right here on the forum, I've yet to hear one complaint from anybody who has hunted with them. Most here offer a much wider variety of game than TT and are just as reasonable and I can assure you the facilitys are much better. Check them out!

Stay away from TT. You'll be disappointed if you don't.

I have to agree with you I watched the video and was asking why not a follow up shot as he chased the ram into the woods. Temple did step forward after he said great shot and patted backwoods on the back. He watched the shot and thought it was a good shot and made a mistake by walking forward. When the ram got up Thompon stopped and the hunter kept going forward toward the ram and should have shot again. Thompson is no way a top notch operation but I have seen guys get their feet wet hunting exotics with him and move onto bigger better animals after that first cheap ram. I have hunted other ranches that sleep better at night but during the day I saw no animals. I'll take as ranch like Thompons any day and drive home with something verses sleeping cozy and going home with nothing. Backwoods I have made bad shots before and wished it wouldn't have happened but don't balme someone for the shot you made.

what he does is not hunting, its killing, pure and simple. in no way more challenging than killing a cow, horse or goat.

i'd rather spend my time and money getting real world experiance and comming home empty handed than stalking livestock in flip flops and white t-shirts and putting an arrow in one.

i'm pretty liberal in the way i hunt, i use feeders, trucks, highfences etc. but i cannot stand hunts like his.

I would sign a petition anyday to boycott this sheep pimp

I'm willing to bet some of the animals on his place were somebody's pet at one time or another.

But aren't rams in general pretty tame? It seems to me from the website he makes that pretty clear. Pics of the lodging don't seem like he's trying to make it look like the Ritz.

I guess all I'm saying is what's wrong with wanting to have some cabrito, paying a pretty cheap fee to go use your bow and have some fun? What makes what he's doing unethical? I'm not trying to stir the pot, I just really am curious...

I went down there several years ago with a bunch of friends. And while the hunting was really weird, and I'll never do it again, I had a great time with friends. The first morning he put me in about a 10 acre pin and the guide put some alpalpha down and they all started showing up. At that time I just unloaded my rifle, put the ammo in my pack, not even ten feet from these rams and they never even looked up. That evening a buddy of mine and I decided to do some walking on top of the hill and glassed a non-tagged, rambo ram. I was happy to get that ram because even though it was a caged hunt, he was about to bail. The ram actually scored silver in the exotics book that year.

Haven't been back since.

I say if you go back you need to bring some hay, since you said they would eat it out of your hand...

just lure em up throw it on the ground, step back and let it have it from point blank range, then jump on its back and hold on....foe that way you wont lose your "trophy"

the man at the top of the mountain didn't fall up it
