Would anyone out there be able to direct me to a ranch where 1 to 4 guys could shoot axis does under fair chase conditions with a reasonable chance of success in the $200 per animal range? Hopefully some Hill Country whitetail rancher is tired of axis eating his protein and needs them shot down. I'm looking to hunt them anytime between now and April, hopefully within a couple hours of San Antonio. Any leads appreciated.

My dad has exotics on 120 acres under a 6ft fence. The cover is very thick so the hunting is not easy. I am pretty sure that his price is in the range you mention. If you are interested pm me and I will send you his contact info. He is located in Junction which is 120 miles west of San Antonio.
Thanks Gene Cole III

I have 1,200 acres next to the Y.O. in Kerrville. But I also have a dilemma. I live in New Orleans and just dont have time to drive 10 hours to fill the feeders every 3 weeks. I would love to get about 5 members from that area to help me manage the ranch. Axis does??? Oh my God! I am no biologist, but I would bet we could take 100 and not negatively affect the herd. Monster bucks, too. I need help, guys!

hey dave i live in dallas but I am a single guy that does not mind to drive. My familys ranch is under contract so i wont have that project. Are ranch has been under texas parks and wild life land managment program for over six years and I know the program. Its great you dont have to use your tags and you get a longer season. It is a free program it just takes meeting with biologist that the state provides and doing surveys. There are a couple of other things but nothing major if there is any help I can be let me know I dont mind the drive, I can cook, and I can work. 214 893 0603. ps I can do light tractor work to if tractor is provided.

The exotic auction I went to (Last fall) a lot of Axis doe were going for up to $400 each with a lot in the $300-$350 range. Probably out the window on the $150-$200 range now for hunting and upwards to $250-$275 each. Unless the ranch is completely over run or the rancher hasnt seen the price increase lately

I found a guy that offers Axis doe for $125 and Black Buck doe for $75 each. There is a guide fee of $150 that can be split between 2 people and each person must shoot at least 2 doe. If anybody wants the contact info send me a PM.

If you can get 3-4 guys together, I will be offering hunts at our place starting in 2 weeks. Axis does (2 for $500.) and Axis bucks for $1,200. Lodgin' and guidin' is free. Hogs and Spanish goats, which are taking over, are $50. apiece. Interested? Let me know.
