I have the Danner Sharptails... the most comfortable boot I have ever owned... I have walked miles and miles in them.

To me the Chips are more like Cowboy boots... DO you really want to be wearing cowboy boots and walking miles

IMO I wore danner boots while stationed in Germany...Very $$$$ boot..And never felt good on my feet..And I wore everything from a high rise danner type snake boot..Too just over the ankle..Danner's are way over priced..

I have the redhead boots. I sometimes do fieldwork for my job and have to walk miles through brush, water, etc. It is a comfortable boot has held up so far. I would recommend it.

I will say, I think they are ugly as heck, but I am not in the woods for a fashion show.

These are the ones I have. I put a ton of miles on them in the last few years. Still waterproof and holding up great. I had a bunch of different boots and these are the most comfortable I have ever owned.. Mine are tan not brown

Just an FYI I have some buddies that used to buy boots from this website: www.bootbarn.com . Personally I never have but I remember them having a huge selection. Perhaps you'll find something there you'll like better.

Twisted X just came out with a really nice, comfortable western snake boot. I tried them on at a local western-wear store a few weeks ago and they are very comfortable. Here's a pic. I wish they were brown instead of gray, but oh well. I'm probably going to be getting a pair soon. Right now I wear the Cabela's Pinnacle zipper snake boots.

Go to the Justin Outlet store on Vickery just South of Downtown FTW. 2 or 3 different styles of Chippewa snake boots. I got a pair for $89 and like em a lot.

i have the zip up red heads, and love the boots. they have goretex, they aren't hot. they are fairly easy to put on and take off. they are very comfortable. they work great and id get another pair.

and i usually wear them outside my pants. on some of my jeans, they wont go around them when i have em zipped up. also, i dont wear em very many places unless im hunting or working, so who cares????? i can walk through water and dont get my pants all wet.

I also wear the Danner Sharptail Covey and second everything that BOBO has said. They are a 17" high boot where most of the "on sale" stuff that you can get will only be 15". these also only weigh in at like 3.5# for the PAIR. they are the lightest most comfortable snake boots that I have ever worn. i literally put them on out of the box and hunted a whole weekend in them without as much as a bunched up sock. they are also surprisingly cool for a snake boot, especially compared to laceups that can make you feel like you have a heating pad around your leg in the spring and fall. they are a little pricey, but the saying "you get what you pay for" goes both ways.

I got Cabelas brand pair for $119 and they are about knee high and waterproof. I really like the peace of mind they give me during bowseason.

I tuck my pants in to keep them from getting wet.

I really like my readhead zip-ups, but I don't recommend them for a lot of walking. Got lace up hiking boots for that. Wore my Snake boots for 3 days while on the ground having a lot of dozer work done through some rough country, and put some hard miles in. The zip-ups just didn't grip my foot well enough not to rub me the wrong way. Better than black rubber boots, but still not a hiking shoe. May fit others better, but you don't have a lot of sizing options, and you cannot lace them tight.
