Wanting to eliminate hog issues with feeders and food plots without spending too much money. Have looked at electric fence (hot wire) and am familiar with it with livestock but never used it for wildlife. Has anybody got any ideas on this topic. We have hogs up to 450 pounds so hog panels wired to t-posts don't cut it. Have considered framing the panels with tubing but cost is the issue. Ideas??

hot wire ought to do the trick i'd try 2 wires close to the ground. low enough the deer could jump it. might booger the deer if they get into it.

hog panels and tposts should do just fine. they arent gunna be ramming the fence like they would in a trap.

We've got some 400 pound hogs. Hog panels and t-posts work just fine for us...

I use the hog panels and place the t-posts about 5 foot apart. I use a total of 4 hog panels and 12 t-posts to form a circle around my feeders. Works great and I haven't had any hogs get in even thou there are a lot of hogs where I hunt. Not sure if it would stop a 450 hog but they work for me so far.

Make the pens as large as you can afford.

We have panels 36" tall x 8' long welded to sq tube , works great , the cost per panel is $65.00, the cost to build one is about $45.00 we make very little but we sell in quanity so we can afford to keep going. You can buy a few or alot and keep adding to the pen until you get it as large as you want. Check out or classified add in the fourm post title Hog Trap/Deer Food Plot Fencing or visit our web site at www.goinfencing.com

Trap the hogs!
