I am having a heck of a time finding a guided varmint hunt for this weekend within 2 hours or less of the DFW area. Thought I'd try once again. looking for reasonable fee around $150.00 for an evening hunt (Bobcat).
Thanks,
Mike

I know you are about to have surgery but this weekend with the full moon and really wet conditions, you probably arent missing anything by not going. Maybe you will find someone, I dont know anyone else who guides around there or I would let you know.

I'm with ffread the moon is going to make it difficult at best. I have a guy coming this Saturday and I have tried to talk him into some other weekend but he's dead set on it.
Good Luck finding someone. $150 wouldn't hardly cover my fuel for a hunt smile

Thanks guys. It figures, the one weekend I have the moon is full and the weather is not conducive for a predator hunt! The reason I was looking for around $150.00 is I thought I saw a few guys post at that, maybe I'm wrong. I certainly understand cost of fuel and fair pay during the hunt. I'm just little bit confused what a fair price is for a evening predator hunt.

On a second note, someone please school me on the fuel cost issue of a predator hunt. Why would fuel during a hunt be close to $150.00? I have heard guys mention large fuel cost. How many miles are you typically driving around during the hunt?

Thanks.

Jeff/predator1outdoors took out 5 guys last weekend for varmints, he went through 2 tanks of fuel, diesel at that. It isn't cheap. The guys that offer you a hunt for 150 are usually a 4-6 hour hunt.

A thousand acers isnt much predator hunting, its just a few stands, and unless your hunting a huge spread you have to drive from place to place, Last weekend we made trips to Clifton, Gatesville, Hillsboro, and Covington. Thats a purty good haul. But i think i might spend just as much on beef jerky and mountain dew as i do fuel.

He went through a 700 acre ranch, a 2,800 acre and a 20,000 acre place, so yeah he made some tracks

Hey...if you want a great hunt for $150 call H&S Critter Getters..they are in Coleman county..have 150,000 acres to hunt on and will take you out from 9pm- 7m this next morning..not 4 hours...we go with them and shoot all night! $150 is the total, period. We have had great luck with them and always see a lot of critters and kill them. Mike and Loyd are the best. Its about 45 minutes from Abilene. Highly recommend them!

You can drive around in D/FW all night and never use a tank of diesel. But take yourself out west hunting (even Abilene) and you can use a 1/2 tank moving to a different pasture.
