So, I have the bright Idea that Kelly was gonna hunt my pond, and I would hit another one nearby... I would get a quick limit of ducks then meet up with him to hunt some geese...(they have been gettin' thick in the area) I limit out with ducks by 7:20 (2 widgeon, 2 gadwalls, 1 Can drake, 1 Ringer drake)  ...I pack up and head to meet him...  He has one Mallard drake and 2 geese down already... Then (unlike it has been all season) the geese just start showin' up in pairs, and small groups all morning...(very cool) We have a few more pairs, and small groups drop in and we easily limit out with 6 "BIG" Canada geese!!!!!  Kelly Callin' some more geese:  So, I bust out the Camera and start taking pics...    We have a pair that sits down and then walks up on the bank...I check out my pics and low and behold...  (they are still out there...as we were done...)  Anywho, I (We) were on cloud nine, until I looked at those pics!!!! I have never shot a banded goose, and this would have been a hell of a way to end the season...Even though I shot a limit of ducks and limit of geese today...go figure I would be complainin'...LOL... I was lucky enough to get the "Hey what are you doing tomorrow morning phone call from JJ yesterday."
I had to decline since I had already committed to church with the wife and kids. Maybe the good Lord will bless me, I hope so because I sure would like to kill a honker.
I really hope you guys get those anklets this morning!
Your pictures and stories were awesome again this year JJ, you're the man.

Pretty neat there guys! I've been sitting with a spotting scope on a bunch of geese looking for both leg and neck bands. That's just awesome that you got not just one, but TWO geese with bands in the picture.

I was in Iowa this week at a grain handling facility, there were geese everywhere and I saw a banded one. I thought that was pretty cool until I saw this!

they also had a dozen of golfballs in their bellies That pond is on his land which is nowhere near a golf course. A bag like that is just another Tuesday morning for JJ. You're the one paying $175/day to shoot gadwalls. Ha Ha, what's that on your chin?
