+1 on the Red Wings. I may skimp on a few things but never on boots. Buy quality foot wear and it will save your back.

Double H boots are made in the USA. I usually wear Ariats but I'm thinking of trying some Double H's out next. I think their "distressed" leather looks better than the Ariats IMO. They are pricey though, The lowest I've seen them is $160, but I guess thats relatively cheap if you look at a pair of Luchesse boots.
Oh, and God help you if you try to find a pair for your wife. You either have to settle for total crap, or pay $500

For years I was a huge fan of Mason Boots.... I even got to where I wore the new pair for dress boots, the next oldest for every day, the older ones for mud muck paint, and had a brand new pair I kept on the shelf. They had a rule that the soles must outlive the uppers or the next pair is free. Never needed it.
I always ordered a new pair when I took the ones off the shelf/out of the box.
That last pair didn't fit. My foot ain't changed since 8th grade. They were about 1/2 inch shorter when compared externally. It had been about a year or so since buying them.... well now they have a 30 day return policy, and since outsourcing to China, customer service recommends getting at least one half to one size bigger....
I just bought some Justin's... and mine say made in America.

arent anderson bean american made? good boots either way!
in fact i think they are texas made...
ac The only boot I have worn since about '92. Haven't bought a pair in a couple of years but they are by far the best I have ever worn and hard to beat the price. I think the boots are made in Gonzales Texas south of San Antonio. Best boots I have ever worn. I swear by them. You can find good looking ones to wear, comfortable ones to ride in and even rope in. All around good boots.

America use to be a huge exporter, now we are dependant on imports. Most of what we were still making in America went south of the border with NAFTA. I buy American products when I can.
