So who's heading out??

We are packing this evening for a full weekend of deer hunting. I have the kids, so no duck hunting for me frown

Maybe my daughter will nail that big 9 pointer that believes its safe rifle deer2

Planning on taking my son for the youth weekend tomorrow if it is not flooding. Good Lord, we couldn't buy a damn drop of moisture for 6 months and now the puddles are not even gone before we get it again! LOL

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Taking the two youngest Friday and Saturday hoping we at least see something. They are both so excited they can't hardly sit still, should be fun in the blind.

We have picked out a beauty of an 8 or 9 point, that I hope comes out on time. If not, there are a couple culls that need removed.

Good luck out there, and don't forget to take pics of the younguns and their harvest banana

I'm gone - be at the ranch late Friday night - skunked all year. Got one more chance due to late doe/spike season. Have 4 youngsters with us and that is the priority to guide them to a deer.

Us too. My son gets out of school at noon. Headed to the lease as soon as he gets out. Last time I was there I set the 12 volt super slinger feeder with additional extra long feedtimes. The hogs have been having a party and we are going to crash it.

heading out this evening with my 5yr old son and meeting my father-in-law out at the ranch. My son informed me that we were going to shoot deer, squirrels, "mean pigs", raccoons, and a few other animals I can't remember. I guess we'll see what comes in for us...

Last weekend? are none of you guys mld 3. Our season doesnt end until feb 28. not trying to brag just figured i'd rub in the fact that ive still got a month and half. wink
But not really because the chances of shooting a mature east texas buck this late are slim and none and we filled our doe qouta. But theres a couple of culls that need the air let out of them and lots of hogs that need to "meat" my grinder.

I didn't shoot any deer, but at daybreak Saturday, 5 bucks came out together, and 3 of them would have made AR's. One of them was a really nice 8 with tall tines. Another was a BIG 6. If he makes 8 points next year, he's going to be really nice. The 8 will be next years shooter if he makes it until then.

Well, its been a great last four days at the lease with the kids. They wore themselves out and Daddy crazy

Sissy was able to get her first buck, the cull posted earlier (the 8 never showed)a doe, two hogs, one went 230lbs, a couple rabbits, and a limit of ducks banana

Little man and I saw several mallards (his favorite) and a couple wood ducks hunting squirrel, but of course we had a .22 and not the shotgun. He was especially stoked watching his Dad pop a doe

But we never connected on the squirrel as planned, so that means we go back soon grin

Pics up later
