I hunt in Robertson county and am going out for the first time this season tomorrow. Any way my question is what time does it get light out i know what time the sunrise is but don't know when it actually gets light outside? Any help is appreciated.

Be as quite as you can walking into and getting setup in your blind. I've always tried to be in an hour to an hour and a half before sunrise. Gives me time to get comfy and have a cup of coffee before the sun even thinks about coming up. With the temp drop this time of year it's not uncommon to see deer at the feeder at first light. i make it in 30 min before 7am. i dont have much to unpack though, so its a straight sit for me. I have a question though, how late do you sit in till? Ive been doing till 1030am.

I normally do all day sits by myself. When I hunt w/ others it is when they come and get me.

I think legal shooting light is around 6:45 AM this time of year. I try to be settled in my stand by 06:00, but earlier doesn't hurt.

We are in by 6:00am this time of year. Generally get out about 10:00am because over the past few weeks we have noted very little to no movement during the day at our place.. Just hasn't been worth an all day sit.... besides we have our bucks.

5:45 for me(lease rules actually). That way I can set up, then have everything calm down for an hour or so before legal shooting light.

Now //Moons up at 3 pm be there before that,On am they been out in moonlight all nite an lay up from 4am until 10 am then take a short stretch walk. Then lay up until the moon shows about 10 oclock hi,3 +-and start feeding,

6 a.m.

6am normally, but thinking about sleeping in this week and hunting 9-1300 Deer are coming in later

Since you haven't been out there yet to get a pattern, I would get there by 6 AM and plan on staying in the stand until at least 11, better yet, bring lunch and stay until after lunch, better yet, stay all day

Screw the clock, deer dont wear em and dont go by em. Heres what i have learned through trial and error and walking into a setup with deer standing around already and waving white flags and middle fingers at me as they depart. Where i hunt in Wise County i show up no later than 4:45am for morning hunts, and no later than 4:45pm for evening hunts. My deer tend to show up at the feeders and stare them down like a bunch of homeless folks waiting for the soup line to open in the mornings, if im not there before that starts i spook em off walking in. HOWEVER, i hunt where i work in Tarrant County, and if you arent in your stand by 3:30pm your screwed. Try walking in to a stand at 4:00 anywhere on the property and your busted. You gota pattern your deer herd and adjust your arival times to there habbits, within legal hours. Now since this is the first time your gona be hunting this spot, you should really try and get ahold of somebody thats hunted it before. If it was me, i would get there crazy early, and probably hunt it all day since its so late in the season. Take food and sit all day. Skinner

Get there at 3:00 AM - set your alarm to wake you up at 10:00 AM and head back to the bunk house and tell everyone you did not see crap but your eye lids.

I think it's cyclical, and slowly rotates on about 5.5 hour cycles... when I see deer moving, unless weather is changing dramatically, I think I am going to be hunting 5.5 hours and 11 hours from then...

There is absolutely 100 percent NO SCIENCE whatsoever in that plan.... and weather changes everything...

I will promise this... you can't kill one from inside camper with your eyes closed...

There may be some science to it. I read once where deer need to get up every 4 to 6 hours to feed.

Serioiusly, I get in the stand anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 hours before sunup.

I usually leave 90 minutes before noon

If you can get to your spot without spooking them, go anytime.

The buck that I had the most fun hunting--I hunted for several days in 1 hour chunks, just went out every chance I had. Finally got him too, on an afternoon when I went hunting with about 45 minutes left in the day.

good rule of thumb: first light is about an hour before sunrise.
