I'm sure many of you have seen these online, but has anyone seen one in person? Anyone hunted out of one? Look pretty cool, but I can't imagine that they wouldn't have some pretty severe glares.

Saw one in a feed store in Sulphur Springs...didn't get in it, they look cool though...

What do they look like on a sunny day? All of those pics seem to have the gloomy day effect

That's what I'm wondering. Could you imagine what a rising or setting sun would look like? Placement would have to be pretty good.

It would probably scare the crap out of some deer.

yeah like a freaking spot light but you know the good old wood and paint they get used to so who knows

The angle on them is a lot steaper than it looks. I don't think it would be an issue. I don't know how you'd keep'm clean. I'd love to see a hard rutting buck walk by one of them...now that would make for an exciting hunt.

They are cool looking.

I've never seen nor hunted out of one, but there was a study done on camoflage at a university, somewhere here in Texas, about ten years ago. I want to say A&M but I really don't think that was it. May have been Tarleton. They set up cams and blinds in all the popular patterns of the time, as well as some odd-balls like hot pink, black, yellow, hunter orange, and mirrored. The best pattern they tried was the mirrored blinds in deep woods. They didn't work worth a dang out in the open, but in deep woods with low light they looked just like whatever was around them. There were pics of deer staring at the stand, even walking towards it, trying to figure out why that "other deer" was staring at them. Ever since I saw that study I've been wanting to cover a box stand with mirrors, just never have.

Never looked at the price but they had them on display at Ranchland Country Store in Goldthwaite this season.

Checked them out and supposedly, they have done studies for years to determine how game will respond to them, whether the reflection would cause fires( said it doesn't), ran over them with tractors and didn't break. I'm assumming they meant when collapsed and flat on ground. So, who knows.... might be worth trying it.

They may work but can you imagine having to clean one every so often? I'll stick with pop-ups and wood.

How much one run? Cant see pics on this work computer. I have seen them at a store in Mount Pleasant one time from a distance.

I just can't help but picture the poor soul in east TX who buys one, then can't find it after they put it out! Or, trying to find it in the dark, and running head-on into it and making all kinds of noise.

I wouldn't want to be in one anywhere near cattle...imagine a big bull seeing his reflection...

Unless using like a pop-up blind, which in the picture that is what they are advertise as. If it is a permanant blind then the deer are going to get used to it so it dont matter if the thing is bright freakin pink with flashing lights.

In the study I read about they found them in the dark just using a lazer-pointer. Just get close and shine the pointer in the general direction. When it shines back you've found the stand. I imagine in daylight, you just go to the woods and try to find yourself..lol...sorry.

I hunt on a pipeline that has to face due east (there is a gas well behind me) so the sun rises square in my face every morning. I doubt seriously that this thing would go unnoticed by anything so it probably wouldn't do me any good. At least I wouldn't be the only creature in the woods having their retinas burned out though LOL

What if a big boar looks himself in the mirror and whats to eat it!!
