Can i get away with puting a 30 dollar simmons, bsa, or bushnell on my 22lr 597 , i broke the front sight screw off and after what the local guy want to redrill it im scopeing it . I dont plan on shooting match or out past 30-40 yards just a coon buster

I bought a Simmons 22-Mag from CTD yesterday for $19.95
The optics were surprising good to my non-expert eyes.
For $20 it looks like a bargain.

I also have a Simmons. It's a very good scope for great prices indeed.

597's suck IMO.. And yes, I have one. Not did, do.. and it sucks..Just saving you ime of cash on scopes....Go cheap and tune it to shoot but dont expect much

Can i get away with puting a 30 dollar simmons, I tried that on a 10/22, only it was a $50 Simmons not a $30 one! Worst scope I ever bought! I took it to the range to sight in and the crosshairs were literly rotating with each shot!! I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER SIMMONS!!!

597 do suck. But I would get a Cheap BSA or Barska.
Most people skimp on the bases and rings with 22s. Got to hold the scope on good.

my 597 never hits same hole twice, lol... 3 different scopes.. So now its a toy for the kids

this one was a great truck gun and can killer till i broke the sight . not looking to make it a match grade gun , i just need to thin my raccon and tree rat problem . i already got a real base and good rings not the clamp on one. thanks

I have two 597's. The older needed some work to be a shooter. I had to buy a new extractor to fix the jamming problem. My newer one was a tack shooter out of the box. I have Bushnell Banners on both of them.
