Two_out_Front posted the other day that his bro-n-law was here for Christmas vacation and he wanted to take him on a hunt. His B-N-L is in the military and just got back from his 2nd tour of Iraq in November. I couldn't take them out the next day but told him that I could on saturday. That worked for them so we set the plans up. I told them that I couldn't guarantee limits but we certianly should have some good shots.
We set up in "the hole" area and 10 minutes before LST the diver show was on. There were a couple of hundred divers flying around and swimming in the decoys. Of course at LST they were all out in the open water pocket that was about 200 yards away. After about 30 minutes we finally have some come in and play. We had several big ducks that looked but didn't want to commit to the decoys until the sun was all the way up.
The birds were coming in singles and pairs which is odd for this place. We even had a single greenhead come right in over the decoys. I wait for it to drop it's feet to call the shot. I don't even take the gun off my shoulder thinking that Matt being the Military guy has it all taken care of. Well the "take 'em" was given and 2 shots rang out before that greenhead was out of there. I looked at him and said "I'm glad you are part of an entire platoon". He hasn't hunted since 2004 so I didn't give him too hard of a time, plus I'm sure he could have stomped me in the mud....
After taking the 13th bird and it being 10 am we decided to pack it in and go get some breakfast.
Here's a pic of Michael "Two_out_Front" on the left and Matt "Military" on the right.

Great story, and I said it on the other post but I'll say it again. That is what this forum should be about. I wish we could see more of that meeting new people off of here, having great hunts with each other, learning from each other, and enjoying the outdoors together. Hopefully some folks will see this and realize that. Some guys on here that think their shat don't stink, and it's been aggravating me. But this is what gets me excited when you see people helping each other out, and esp. someone serving to protect our country.

Very stand up thing you did No-Tox! up
