I do a lot of hunting in the salt. I've got the black SBE and it will start showing surface rust before the hunt is over. I've tried Rust Inhibitor for removing and protecting the gun for the next days hunt but it doesnt seem to keep the rust from forming. Where I hunt, you usually have to lay flat in the marsh and getting the gun wet is inevitable.
Has anyone looked into getting the camo coating on their non-coated guns?
Any other advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kyle

I had it done about 8 years ago by a place in Georgia, and I have been very happy. Rust hasn't been a problem since then. My browning BPS was just like that, it would be rusted before I even got back to the truck. Even as it's been wearing off on high use areas, it's still not rusting on the bare metal. Don't know what they did, but it was awesome. I have no idea who it was at this point, I think I asked the guys on the 'fuge, and they recommended that place.

It's rust on the inside that I would care about.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

Mine didn't rust on the inside, it was just pesky rust on the sides of the receiver.

I have a SBEII that came dipped from the factory. I hunt salt, fresh, rice patties, marsh, you name it, I have never had a problem with anything rusting inside or out. Makes you wonder what the difference is. Before I bought the SBE I toted a remington 870 then an 1100 I could not keep the rust off of them. I dont know where you are located, but there is a guy here in houston that dips guns, got my dads gun dipped for Birthday/ Christmas present it looks real good. I hope it holds up just as well.

Do you by chance know how to contact the guy in houston? I would love to get a camo dip on it and not have to worry about it anymore.
Its not rusting on the inside, just the barrel. It is just a real pain to scrub the gun forever when I get home to get it looking new again.
Thanks for all of the replies, Kyle
