My wife shot a really nice doe Satruday night. It was her second deer. After a perfect lung shot, it ran into the brush, which is very thick. It took us a coupel hours but we found her. She was so proud. I took it to the processor in Belton that has an 24 hour dropoff. I called in today to let him know how I wanted it processed. Come to find out her deer is gone. It had to have been stolen overnight because they came in Sunday morning to move the deer into the main cooler. He said they had another one stolen last night. I dont hold the processor responsible. Having the convenience of a 24 hour drop will have this risk. Whoever did this is a dirtbag. We dont pay a lease fee, but I have plenty in corn and time tied up in our hunting. I cant imagine if I had paid a couple grand to hunt. My wife is pretty upset. In my book, this aint much different than poaching.

Maybe that processor would do good with a hidden trail cam himself. Or have a combination lock on the cooler door and only customers with drop offs know the combo (change it every day or so). This way you know who entered and who didn't. Sounds like someone is hungry in the neighborhood, but theft is theft. Sorry to hear about your wife's deer being stolen. That really blows.

I hope they choke on the first piece they eat.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I guess you could look at the one positive: Evidently you clean your deer better than others at the processor or they might not have choosen yours.
That happened to me several years ago. Very frustrating.

I have tried to think of a way that this could have been prevented, but I dont think a lock would work. Then how does teh customer get in to leave the deer? Most of the time if it is cold enough I will hang the deer in my tree and take it in when they open. But it was going to be a little warm that night so I went ahead and took it in. I guess I wil have to start skinning them out and quartering it up in a cooler myself. I never messed with it cause it doesnt save me any money at the processor.

I think it was just teh biggest deer in teh cooler. There was an 8 point in there, but it was a little smaller than the doe. WE are pretty selective and take mature animals. SHe was a good doe, at least 5 yrs old. It really sucks.

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous. I just don't understand people sometimes. I would rather give you that deer that I shot or my wife shot, if you were really and truly in need, than for you to just steal it. That, I have no respect for. You can be bad off, but you don't have to resort to stealing. There are other options.
Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.--SPR[image]

Yeah we got plenty of pics. I am going to go by and talk to the processor tomorrow. I want him to atleast report it. Maybe if we raise the awareness alittle we can discourage someone form doing it again.

Sounds like it time for a night time hunt at the processor. Night vision, rifle, cell phone. Could be fun !!

Sounds like it time for a night time hunt at the processor. Night vision, rifle, cell phone. Could be fun !! Thought about that too, but I owuld doubt they would leave my tag on it. They probably cut mine off and put theirs on, if they took it to another processor. Even better chance they hauled [censored] home and never put theior tag on it, if they even have a license.

A number of years ago, my cousin had the best 10 point he had ever taken on our Ranch stolen from a Processor's Facility in Belton. Don't know the name, but was a similar drop off situation. Be interesting to know if this is an isolated case or occurs more often??

There are no excuses for stealing, but you'll have the memories forever.....you can only enjoy that doe once....maybe twice if it gives you indigestion.
....but that really does stink. I hope they choke on it.
Hold your gun straight, and turn your cell phone sideways... when shooting video.
