 Looking to hunt Kansas next year. Need some help

I'm looking to hunt Kansas and was wondering if it would be best to hunt public land or try and get access for a land owner. I have never hunted up there so not sure where to begin

Try to get access from a landowner. Do your research about the state and the herd and go from there.
