I saw a question about how far deer will travel so I did a ton of research.. There are studies that prove with radio transmitters that bucks can and will travel as far as 4o miles away. Unreal.Look at the studies on hundreds of collared bucks at www.pgc.state They have deer that travel 12 miles away and back in 24 hours. Most of the studies I found in Texas would depend on the range as to the average distance. But it is still farther than I would have believed. The farthest I had ever seen was a ten point that was on game cam at a feeder in Eola texas that had bad lumps on his horns and a 3 way brow split that was killed south of Eden over 16 miles away one week later but that was during the rut.
Never seen 'em grow bigger horns on the ground

They will travel an approx 1/4 square mile from birth to death. From what I have seen the doe finds and area that she is really comfortable with like near a yearly food plot or feeders, etc and will breed in that area year in and year out. The doe is what matters because they reproduce and the bucks come to them.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
